The Department of Urdu is the oldest department in Nizam College established in 1887. Urdu is offered as a second language at UG level and also as one of the optionals (Modern Language) to the students of B.A. degree course. Besides a full timer, part time teachers are also involved in handling the classes. Extension lectures and literary activities are regular feature of the department. Urdu festival is organized every year. In this regard various competitions are conducted in Urdu language.
He obtained his M.A. in 1985 ,M.Phil in 1990 Ph.D in 2004.His area of specialization is Modern Urdu Literature and interact areas are Modern urdu Literature and translation .He published several reviews of Literary works in National and international Journals and one of the most significant work in Unwan Chisti Shaks Aur Shair(1995).He has organized various national and state level Seminars and symposium along with Mushairahs Chaired by eminent personalities like P.A. Sangma- Rajesh Pilot to name a few. Member of various advisory and Departmental Committies and college purchase Committee. He is the Director of 'Center for Educational Development of Minorities',O.U. He took charge as Executive Officer in charge (AFC) Haj Committee Andra Pradesh, Hyderabad,Minority welfare Department, Govt.of Andra Pradesh on 31st Dec-2011.Beside this he hold the Position of president and Secretary of OUTA,National integration Conference ,A.P Minorities Protection Committee etc. He is General Secretary of Idare-e-adabiyat-e-urdu,a familiar research Centre, Library and museum of Deccan Hyderabad. He also received special invitation from Govt. of Saudi Arabia to visit Saudi Arabia in 'Haj Delegation 'july-1992.
Working as a Assistant Professor (P.T) since Nov.1999.He studied Master Degree from Arts College,O.U. and got 2 Gold medals for Securing highest marks and First Position is the yeer 1991.He awarded Master of Philosophy in the year 1994 from O.U.His research topic was 'Khaja Shauq Shaks Aur Shair', research work done under the supervision of Dr.Aqueel Hashmi, former Head Dept.of Urdu,Arts College,O.U.He qualified the NET in the year 1996 from UGC/APCSC . His area of studies is History of Modern Urdu Literature.He Published 5 articles on Various topics in different research Journals 'reputed Magazines and daily news papers. He was the Convenor of 'kul hind Mizahiah mushairah' Conducted by the Dept.of Urdu on the occasion , Celebration of 120 years of Nizam college dated on 17th Feb 2008.He is a Ph.D research scholar . His work is in progress under the super vision of Prof.Baig Ehsas .Head Dept.of Urdu ,Hyderbad Central University,Hyderbad.
He studied Post graduation from college of Languages O.U. Hyd .His area of Specialization is history of urdu Literature .Qualify the B.Ed from O.U. He qualify the UPT Comprehensive college of Education. He attended and Produced the research papers 'URDU KE FAROOG MAIN SHAIRY KA HISSA' in the National Seminar Conducted by the Urdu Dept. Telangana University Nizambad on Nov 2010,Attended the workshop Conduct by the Moulana Azad National Urdu University on Oct 2011.
