DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS

The Department of Economics, Nizam College is one of the oldest Departments. Currently the Department has 6 Teachers – 4 Professors and 2 Assistant Professors, one FIP Scholar and one part timer . Thus the Department can boast of having well qualified teaching faculty on its rolls. All the teachers are well exposed to teaching and research at different levels. The Department is offering UG and PG programmes. The Department is also having a very good seminar library with standard books and journals. The Department can boast of computer facilities also.

Dr.J Anjaiah, M.A.,M.Phil.
Professor and Head of the Department

Prof. J.Anjiah has taken over as Head Department of Economics from September 2011 and had organized Dr. Balwant Reddy’s first memorial lecture delivered by Y.Venugopal Reddy on 7th September 2011.Prof. J. Anjiah is helping Department of Business Management Department by taking classes on Managerial Economics for MBA. students of Nizam College. Prof. J. Anjaiah is helping the students of Nizam College by taking classes for M.SC five year integrated course in chemistry.He had 10 Papers presented in Journals, Seminars, Conferences.Under his guidance, one M.Phil Scholar and one Ph.D Scholar had completed their research work and 4 students work is under progress. He had worked as Deputy Director and Incharge Director in ASC, OU for 3yrs and 4 months.

He has joined the university service in 1980.His Area Specialization is Macro Economics, Rural Development and Quantitative Methods. He joined the university service on 14th Jan 1992. He obtained his PhD degree from the Osmania University1994..
