Department of Public Administration

The Department of Public Administration, Nizam College is one of the oldest Departments like other Social Sciences. The Department was started in the year 1960 at the undergraduation level (i.e. B.A.). The fact to be noted is the way the Department has moved with the times in reviewing its syllabi and updating its teaching strategies. The conferment of Autonomy to the college in 1988-89 provided the academic freedom to the Department to frame its own syllabi for Public Administration that is taught through six semesters (8 papers) of B.A. Course. Postgraduate classes were started in 1998.

The Department continues to engage M.A. Public Administration classes; the syllabus comprises twenty courses through four semesters. All matters pertaining to the postgraduate courses offered by the constituent colleges of the University are handled by the centralized academic and evaluative monitoring system in consultation with the individual mother Departments.  Nizam College is striving to introduce this subject at the P.G. level.. The Department of Public Administration, Nizam College, is exclusively offering four specialisation papers under HRD i.e., 1) Organizational Behavior, 2) Employee- Employer Relations, 3) Educational Administration and 4) Health Administration .The Departmental staff comprises – One Associate Professor (Head), Two Assistant Professors and Four Academic Consultants. All the teachers are well exposed to teaching and research at different levels. The Department has a good seminar library with about 250 standard books for U.G. & P.G.
