Department of Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy offers UG programme (along with the combinations of Psychology and Sociology). The Department is also involved in designing the syllabus for the students of plus two who do not have formal training in Philosophy. The syllabus for three years of UG introduces the different branches of Philosophy both Western and Indian philosophical framework. There are two exclusive papers on Logic and Ethics.
The syllabus is designed after referring to the Social Science syllabi of all the institutions of the world that are into various fields of Social Science Education and training and it is updated every year. The Department organizes weekend internal seminars for the students. |

Dr. T Krishna Rao joined on Jan 13 1992 and is Associate Professor since 2001. He got his M.A. in 1990, M.Phil in 1993 and PhD in 1997. |
| His area of Specialisation is Western Philosophy, Indian Philosophy and Logic and interest areas are Modern Indian Thought and Logic. He has published 7 research papers in different journals and some of his significant papers are "Rejuvenating Corporates with Business Ethics," "Business and Management and Universal Religion in Pluralistic Society According to Vivekananda." He has organised several workshops, seminars and symposium. Presently he is Joint Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University. |

Dr. S. Mallesh joined service on 13 Jan 1992 and is Associate Professor since 2001. He got his M.A. in 1988, M.Phil in 1990 and Ph.D in 1996. |
| His area of specialisation is Western Philosophy and area of interest is Moral Philosophy and Ambedkar Philosophy. He has published 8 Research papers in national and international journals. And his significant publications include "Genealogy of Morals" in Osmania University Journal of Social Sciences, 2002 and "Gilles Deleuze's on Nitetzsch" in Journal of Philosophy, Department of Philosophy, Osmania University, 2003. He has an ongoing minor research project funded by UGC entitled "The Power of Myth- Construction of Hindu Myth". He was awarded UGC-JRF scholarship (1990) and International Fellowship - DAAD (German fellowship- 1994) |
